Timbo and local Austin artist, Bob Wade "Daddy-O Wade" |
Timbo Sabo has
spent the last twelve years traveling around the globe in a
custom hot air balloon. Years ago, over the Jalisco region of
Mexico, his craft unexpectantly landed in a field of native
blue agave plants and prompty burst. Thus began Tim's
fascination with all things Mexican, especially tequila. For
several years he labored in the agave fields as a jimador,
harvesting the blue agave piñas and learning the fine art of
extracting mescal from the blue agave plant. He even developed
a taste for pulque, the fermented agave juice that the Aztecs
drank centuries ago, while developing his own personal brand
of tequila, Timbolito. Armed with his knowledge of what makes
a great tequila, he now has a burgeoning tequila empire. Today
he spends his days exploring the four corners of his native
Texas (by foot), while occasionally stopping to paint (and
sip) his favorite cool beverage, the margarita, in celebration
of his days in old Mexico. |
